Can I use a Cyber Café or my PC at work to access Internet Banking?

Our Internet Banking service can be accessed from anywhere in the world as it does not require files to be downloaded and stored on your PC. Internet Banking has been designed to work over a number of different connections, however we cannot guarantee connectivity in all circumstances. If you experience difficulty connecting over a LAN, please see your systems administrator.

The first time you log on to the service you will be asked for your online Access and Support IDs. You will also be asked to set up your new security details which you will need to use every time you attempt to log on to Internet Banking in the future.

We do not advise you to save any personal information on any device that is not controlled or maintained by you.

Equipment Specification

To access first direct's Internet Banking, you will need the following:

PC

  • Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7
  • Browser software: Microsoft® Internet Explorer (version 7 or higher)*, Mozilla Firefox (version 3 or higher)** or Google Chrome (version 6 or higher)***
  • Internet access
  • Modem (minimum speed 56kbps)
  • Colour display, minimum pixel resolution 1024 x 768

Please note: PCs connected to Local Area Networks are not supported.

Apple Mac

  • Mac OS X 10.4 or above
  • Browser software: Safari (version 4 or higher), Mozilla Firefox (version 3 or higher)** or Google Chrome (version 6 or higher)***
  • Internet access
  • Modem (minimum speed 56kbps)
  • Monitor: 16 bit colour display, minimum resolution 800 x 600 (recommended resolution 1024 x 768)

Please note: Macs connected to Local Area Networks are not supported.
